The fan works well. I was surprised that the wall switch is powered by batteries rather than being wired in. While that may be a benefit for some people, it required a second hole to be made in my wall. Came very well packaged. I had a handyman install it. He did not seem to have any problems. It is controlled by the remote. The wall outlet (?) only turns the unit off. The fan moves alot of air with only three blades. The remote also controls on/off, warm/cool light, light brightness, 6 fan speeds, and has a timer. Yay we have light! Added this fan to the lake house bedroom that only had table lamps. We're very happy with the over head light that it provides as well as the air movement. Love that it has a remote and that it can be mounted to the wall as well since there isn't a light switch, well at least always know where the "remote" should be haha when walking into the room.
