Decent fan for the price. Instructions were very basic without a great deal of detail. Had to do some research on the web to clarify wiring questions. But, all in all, assembly was not difficult and the fan seems to be quiet and has several speed andlighting modes. Remote is useful. Tips: 1. If your outlet has red, black, and white wires, only the black and white are connected to fan; cap the red with a wire nut. 2. Green and yellow wire on bracket connects to ground. 3. You may need to replace two existing screws on motor with longer screws in order to secure the ceiling cover. 4. A flat screw driver set is very helpful in securing those two screws because the space between the cover and motor housing is tight. 5. Some bolt holes were too small for the bolts supplied. The fan is perfect for a small room. It is in my 14 year old's room and the lighting is very cool. The fan puts out the amount of air you would expect for this size fan so it is not suitable for a large room like the living room. The installation was more complicated than other fans I've done. It's not impossible but it just took a lot of patience as the hardware provided wasn't as forgiving as some of the other brackets I've worked with. Fortunately it is also not nearly as heavy as larger fans so it is also much more forgiving when mounting. My ground wires were extremely hard to connect them all together and the one connected to the base snapped off at the connection to the screw. I ended up having to use an additional wire and manually wrap it around the screw but this actually made things much easier cause this wire was longer and allowed me to easily connect all three grounds together. This is a beautiful ceiling fan. I'm very happy with it. I had professional help installing it. He reports it was challenging to install due to some complicated engineering choices made by the manufacturer, but made it work. My camera isn't capturing the true beauty of the stained glass when lit but the predominant color is violet. Because of the stained glass, the light is muted but since this is being used in a bedroom, that's what I wanted.
