I looked at many similar lightfan combinations but am glad I spent a little more on this one. Its sturdy, silent operation convinced me I made the right choice. Also, this remote was a deciding factor as it’s clearly marked and easy to use. The size is perfect to move air and brighten a typical bedroom (100-150 sq ft) but doesn’t dominate the space . I almost took one star off because you cannot use a dimmer switch, but decided that was not mandatory for me as this is intended for general purpose lighting in the room. We have a "Florida basement" storage room in our modern organic coastal home that needed a light. This was perfect, nice (not cheap) quality and a little fun. When lit, the warm brown weave creates a neat little pattern across the ceiling. As some have mentioned, you will need to be directly under the fan to feel it but it does move air surprisingly well. This is perfect for us because I sometimes hang wet clothes on a drying rack or do some ironing in the center of the room.
