I almost took one star off because you cannot use a dimmer switch, but decided that was not mandatory for me as this is intended for general purpose lighting in the room. We have a "Florida basement" storage room in our modern organic coastal home that needed a light. This was perfect, nice (not cheap) quality and a little fun. When lit, the warm brown weave creates a neat little pattern across the ceiling. As some have mentioned, you will need to be directly under the fan to feel it but it does move air surprisingly well. This is perfect for us because I sometimes hang wet clothes on a drying rack or do some ironing in the center of the room. This ceiling fan is beautiful! It is very well made and sturdy. The materials are too notch. The rattan wicker fabric is great!! We got it to go with other fabric wicker types we just got from Wayfair as well. It all looks great together. We have a beach house and this looks great over our bed. However, it would just as great in a dining room or living room as well. It is a pretty big size so would fill up your areas nicely. It is a modern coastal take on the old paddle type ceiling fans. Don’t still looks coastal but uniquely different then the older types. It is also unique in the fact that the blades are curved and they stay folded down on the top until you turn it o. Then they open up and spread out as they open. When you turn off it folds back down on top It then looks like a regular candelabra type under a coastal shade! We haven’t figured out how to keep blades open all the time if we like that look. Not sure they do but we will continue to check. The only negative is that it has a slight wobble in it at any speed it’s on. We had a professional install it. So it is in good and tight and all fine tight. This fan was an excellent choice! It’s very well built and powerful it moves a lot of air. The control for it is very nice and mounts on the wall. It’s also very quiet. This was exactly what we needed for a family cabin room! It goes great with the older cabin decor, adds a great bit of airflow, and offers quite a lot of light. I love that it works well on a dimmer, too, and that the remote is easy to work. Do you note that I could not figure out if there was or was not a dimming option for the lights on the remote (do not believe there is), but because we have that switch on a dimmer, we can dim the bulbs. That is important to me because the LED bulbs would be too bright if not dimmable. The fan is wonderful and works incredibly well, with many options for various speeds and a button to push if you want the fan to be completely quiet. The fan works in both directions to push air or pull air upward. The lights and fan work independently, so you are not required to have both on to use one or the other. The wood material is nice and looks great. I love the slats in the shade that offer some visual interest. Note that the fan material is plastic rather than wood, but it looks realistic.
