I was skeptical about this purchase because it was not rated at all, but I can say, it's perfect for my bedroom! It's not a heavy fan - meaning the box was so much lighter than other ceiling fans, but it serves the purpose and looks a cross between elegant and useful :) I have not tried it yet, but it looks good.
