It's a VERY pretty fan. The blades are a very light gray wash look - high end. I got the Nickel finish motor. On/off via light switch and then the remote controls everything. Most fans I run at speed 1 for sleeping and that creates some air movement. But this fan doesn't push a lot of air, so i have to use speed 2 or 3 to get the same effect. This is in a guest room, which is rarely used, so that's fine for my needs. But if you need a fan that REALLY creates a breeze in a room, this is NOT the one. (Minus a star for that).. Tamara954. It's a beautiful fan! We bought two, one for our bedroom and one for a back room that does not get much air circulation. The glass dome is very pretty and filters the light nicely. Make sure you get smaller bulbs with lower watts, standard light bulbs do not fit within the dome and higher wattage bulbs (over 60w) produced rather harsh light. Very nice fan! Sleek, lightweight, and the remote is easy to understand. Exactly as it looks. Some fans wobble quite readily, but this one is built to be steady (follow the instructions carefully). This is a great looking fan, with or without the fabric shade! I choose to install it without the shade to give it more of an industrial modern appearance, and I don’t think it’s lacking anything. I bought some decorative Edison bulbs and I’m very happy with it. The fan assembly was straightforward out of the box. However… the install to the ceiling was difficult as the instructions are completely worthless (I don’t know why they even bothered creating them). It took some trail and error but eventually I found that you have to install the remote box before connecting any wires. There is a metal support wire that connects to nothing and not sure why it’s included as it only gets in the way.
