I didn’t read that it was plastic but it’s fantastic and actually better than ceramic. It’s ez to set up…. Less than 5 minutes. It is so easy to move. The sound and lighting are pleasant and the water doesn’t splash anywhere. Even in hot, dry places, I’ve not had to fill it with water very often. The color is great. It’s light weight so I put it on a cheap, $12 stand I got from Marshall’s. The light and sounds create a peaceful vibe at night. Perfect! Simple to set up and does t require refilling with water very often. Versatile and easy to move. So much better than fountains that have a big reservoir you have to sink into the ground or build around to hide the reservoir, this fountain doesn’t need a separate reservoir. I updating my review to 4 starts. I finally got all the parts to put the fountain together and it is a lovely fountain. Sound is just right to bring on the tranquility. I just set it up and may come back after it's run for a while successfully. Lovely fountain. I wouldn't hesitate to buy if you are looking for an appealing fountain. I packed it up because waiting for the part would take longer than just swapping the unit. The second unit arrives with no light. I am sure you can imagine my disappointment. I ordered on May 26th and still can't assemble. I have no idea when the light will arrive. 5 stars on beauty of the fountain 1 star based on the headache and lack of quality control makes this not so cheap purchase and overall 3. Love this fountain! Could use better instructions so I’m adding a few tips about installation 1. Only one cord comes out of the bottom (drawing showed 2) 2. Warm plastic tube w a hair dryer to soften it for insertion 3. There is a (mostly) round plastic cap that should be placed over the reservoir tube (once you’ve snaked the power cord thru) to protect the plug from water. 4. Would recommend putting fountain together indoors. It’s tricky. Also, it weighs 40 pounds without water, so don’t add water til you get it outside and are ready to go. 5. I used clear postal tape to strap the top to the reservoir to keep it secure while moving it out of the house. 6. The cord is about 6’ long but runs the length of the base, leaving 3-4’. Plan accordingly. I placed my unit in front of a window so I could snake the cord under the window and plug it in inside (used an extension cord). 7. I added 2 copper disks to reduce algae build-up.. Lovely and the birds and bees love it. Black started flaking off tho during the first couple of months. We only paint the outside (in the off season after drying) for critter safety, but 3 yrs now and it’s still running with the same pump.
