I didn’t read that it was plastic but it’s fantastic and actually better than ceramic. It’s ez to set up…. Less than 5 minutes. It is so easy to move. The sound and lighting are pleasant and the water doesn’t splash anywhere. Even in hot, dry places, I’ve not had to fill it with water very often. The color is great. It’s light weight so I put it on a cheap, $12 stand I got from Marshall’s. The light and sounds create a peaceful vibe at night. I updating my review to 4 starts. I finally got all the parts to put the fountain together and it is a lovely fountain. Sound is just right to bring on the tranquility. Thus far it appears worth the cost. Enjoy! First let me say I love the fountain. Beautiful and as picture. With this being the case, it's been a very frustrating process for me. As I eagerly awaited the fountains arrival, it was finally here and upon unpacking realized it was missing the pump. Contacted Wayfair which was an overall pleasant experience. I packed it up because waiting for the part would take longer than just swapping the unit. The second unit arrives with no light. I am sure you can imagine my disappointment. I ordered on May 26th and still can't assemble. I have no idea when the light will arrive. 5 stars on beauty of the fountain 1 star based on the headache and lack of quality control makes this not so cheap purchase and overall 3. This piece includes an internal pump with flow rate control. It plugs in with ease and requires a 120V power source.

Love this fountain! Could use better instructions so I’m adding a few tips about installation 1. Only one cord comes out of the bottom (drawing showed 2) 2. Warm plastic tube w a hair dryer to soften it for insertion 3. There is a (mostly) round plastic cap that should be placed over the reservoir tube (once you’ve snaked the power cord thru) to protect the plug from water. 4. Would recommend putting fountain together indoors. It’s tricky. Also, it weighs 40 pounds without water, so don’t add water til you get it outside and are ready to go. 5. I used clear postal tape to strap the top to the reservoir to keep it secure while moving it out of the house. 6. The cord is about 6’ long but runs the length of the base, leaving 3-4’. Plan accordingly. I placed my unit in front of a window so I could snake the cord under the window and plug it in inside (used an extension cord). 7. I added 2 copper disks to reduce algae build-up.. This solar fountain pump is really cool. I have bought 2 pumps before but they only worked when the sun shined directly at them. They wouldn't stay in the birthbath, either. I had to put rocks around them. However this one stayed in the birthbath, I still put a rock in to secure the wire. It even works on cloudy days, even though, thanks to the battery.
