It took longer than expected to receive the countertop but it arrived in immaculate condition and looks amazing. I put on 3 thin coats of wipe-on water based satin polyurethane to protect it and sanded lightly with steel wool in between coats. These Hevea butcher block countertops were just what I wanted for my new office. They were well packaged and arrived without damage. A few coats of matte poly were easy to apply. Nice smooth edges too so no additional sanding needed. They were less than half the cost of what I could get through my local big box DIY store. Stable and easy install countertop table. During assembly there were some noticeable blemishes. I was able to touchup the blemish on the bottom of the inside laminate finish with a furniture dark brown maker. There were blemishes on the faux marble top and on one side. It’s noticeable when the table top has bright light reflecting from it that shows the blemishes. I couldn’t fix those markings. The shipping box was a thinner cardboard than I expected for shipping. The table inside of the box was protected by styrofoam on all sides. The table top should have been protected in plastic wrap to prevent the thin sheet of styrofoam covering it from potential blemishes. After contacting customer support the manufacture gave me a partial refund for the blemishes. I placed table mats on the table top to hide the most noticeable markings.. Ruben. South Amboy, NJ. This island is beautiful and great quality at a decent price. Is just what i needed for my studio apartment and provides me extra storage and counter space. Instructions were overall clear. Was not difficult to build but it did take me about 6 hours to put together because I did it alone. Would have been much easier if I had another pair of hands helping. Despite significant damage to the shipping box the bar top is 99.9 undamaged. There is a minor chip on the bottom edge not visible from the top. This is attributed to the outstandingly packaging that was done for shipping. This bar top and delivery has exceeded my expectations.
