I am thrilled with this kitchen island—so thrilled that I’m painting my kitchen that is under renovation to match it. It arrived as promised without a hitch and has all the features I wanted. There is plenty of shelf space and storage for the not so pretty items that will end up behind the closed doors. I’ll add a picture if I am able. I love it! I’d like to give it 6 stars.. Elaine. It’s sturdy and on wheels which is nice. The only thing I didn’t like is that the paint is already cracking and it was just delivered. Also I think it would be nice if the cabinet had a shelf in it but it does have plenty of storage space. Anonymous. Buffalo Ny. Fri Jul 17 2026

My item arrived today. It's better then I expected. The item looks just like the picture. The drawers and cabinet are just what I expected. I would reccomend this item to anyone thinking of buying it. The only issue when unpacking it is that one of the caster wheels support piece was not attached. Luckily I'm not using the caster wheels so it was not an issue for me.. Anonymous. Chicago. Fri Jan 31 2025

Very classy design, heavy and sturdy with eye-catching detail and impressive proportions. This was a significant purchase for my new home, and it looks like it was made just for my kitchen. But I am not $1,500 worth of happy... I would put my happiness rating at about $900. But I paid over $1,500 and I have some issues with this item. Mostly, the paint and overall finish on the legs and frame it not what I expected. The little bare detail spots are very rough and not sanded smooth so they will snag clothing if you brush up against it. And the wood used for the legs is heavy but also can be dented quite easily (which happened during assembly using a hand tool). But the real kicker for me is the paint job... for this much money it just doesn't seem to be "finished." You can scratch it off with a fingernail. With 3 small dogs in my house this is a potential problem. Add to that, the paint was not sealed in any way- and John Boos SELLS a poly coat product! I guess John Boos wants me to spend another $30.... and apply it myself. Which would have been easier before I assembled it. Now that it's put together, it will be a difficult job. So for a piece that cost almost as much as my new leather sofa I am satisfied enough with it, but not totally happy and excited.. Karen M. Lawrenceville, GA. Sat Apr 26 2025

Mixed review on this. While the cabinet and hardware seem quite nice, the island top is actually 5 pieces of wood and not solid, which makes it look cheaper. I expected a solid slab and it was impossible to tell from the photos online. As there were no other reviews at the time, I was surprised to find that when it arrived. It’s still a beautiful piece but a little disappointing for the price point.. Anonymous. Wed Nov 01 2023

If you are thinking of buying this and are a little nervous don't hesitate. It arrived and each peice was expertly packed, there would be no way of damage. We were able to put together in less than 30 mins. One thing to consider is the weight of the item, it is extremely heavy and multiple people are needed to carry in as well as assist in putting together. Worth every penny and will be apart of my family for generations to come. I purchased the useful grey, I really think would go with any decor.. Maria. Toanawanda, NY. Mon Jun 27 2016
