Overall, the quality of the material is good for the price. It’s made from natural wood and feels sturdy. However, The screw for the wheels is not long enough to hold the wheel. I really like the island. It was pretty easy to put together and good quality. I really needed extra counter space and this provides a great amount with the leaves up and a small footprint with them down. Not a lot of storage space, but that wasnt my goal. The dimensions for the inside of the drawers is not correct. They are 3 H x 9 W x 10 D. They do recommend that you seal the wood top for protection from liquids. There are lots of options. Let me begin by saying I ordered this on the 7th of April in the evening and they said it would be delivered on the 9th, they then emailed me and said it wouldnt be delivered until the 12th and I was highly disappointed. Well it was actually delivered on the 8th, a day aheadof the original date. I was extremely satisfied at that point. I read in other reviews that shipping was fast and I can agree, that yes, its extremely fast. I came home from work Friday evening and started opening one of the 2 boxes. The granite top comes in a separate box. Again as stated in several reviews, everything comes marked and labeled. I took everything out of the box and arranged the pieces by the labels. I then turned the box upside down and carefully started the assembly. I was able to put this unit together by myself in about 2 and a half hours. I took my time and wiped some of the parts down because of the white styrofoam that was heavy on some of the boards. As I was putting it together the pieces seemed solid. They didnt have a cheap feel but once I got to the final step by putting on the granite top, I had to call my boy to assist with that phase. But when I put the top on and tightened it down, it made the whole cabinet feel even more solid. As you can see by the pictures I changed the handles. They come with brushed chrome and I changed to black to match the other handles on the cabinets. Im totally satisfied with this purchase and my wife loves it as well. I looked at so many other islands, in specifically the Nantucket which retailed for a thousand dollars but when I saw this one with the granite top, I decided on this one.. Gerald.
