Our answer to all you modernists is on the lookout for that low-profile platform bed with a headboard that's modern in looks and super sturdy in structure. So far so good. This bed was a pain to put together. Not only that but the headboard seems cheap and is not as tall as I initially imagined, but you get what you pay for. By the time everything was in place it seemed very sturdy. I used my own box spring which further shortened the height visually of the headboard. We shall see how long it lasts. This metal platform bed is a simple and modern, one-of-a-kind design. The extra thick and sturdy metal frame includes rounding detail in the legs and corners for your safety. After searching through hundreds of bed frame options and not finding anything else we liked, we decided to go with this for our new king sized bed. It was incredibly easy to put together and the instructions were better than I expected. The only issue was that the instructions referenced pieces being A, B, C, etc. but the pieces didn't have those labels, just the numbered stickers where pieces joined up. It was possible to work around that issue though! The box was heavy and the two of us could have fought it up the stairs, but we just opened the box downstairs and carried the pieces up, which was definitely the way to go. The bed frame is sturdy and doesn't make any noise. The velcro aspect of where the wooden slats sit on the metal is a great addition! We put a 14 inch mattress on it and the headboard is about the same height of the pillows (see image). We opted not to peel off the tape to use the adhesive on the mattress, it has been staying in place well without it, plus it would have made unrolling the new mattress tricky. The picture doesnt do this bed justice since we currently have a comforter that is too small for the bed and we just moved so not much furniture in the room but it is a nice quality bed! My husband put the whole thing together on his own in about an hour. He said everything went together perfectly. I love how everything is padded even the footboard so I wont hurt toes anymore! I received the bed in a small box. I didn't believe it could all be in there, but it was. I am 76 and it was about 2 hours to put together. Putting it together could not have been easier. It is a very nice bed frame! My Daugther loves it. It was super easy to put together. Took about 12 an hour. It is very sturdy.
