The little metal studs on the headboard also make it stand out. We put a 14 inch mattress on it which I think was perfect, no gap where the pillows are. The charging port is also a nice feature and helps with maximizing your space. This room is 11x11 so we were trying to make it comfortable but not cluttered or chaotic.
