This is the best idea ever, I love it! I was not thrilled about a dark color so I took fabric and glue gunned it all around the wood pieces after I assembled most of it, their was enough room to do this and it worked great. Overall, this is a nice storage bed with plenty of under bed storage and the holstered wing back headboards look great. The hydraulic lift works well, but it is very heavy. The first time it won’t even let me, but I can’t see it opens it can spring up on its own, which was a little startling if you’re standing in the middle of the bedframe. We did run into a few assembly issues the Velcro attached bottom mat was just a little too short to fit properly across the bed frame an extra inch or two would’ve made the installation much easier. We also found that the included number eight wrench did not fit the hydraulic bolts the steps involving parts number 21 and number seven so we had to use our own tools. In addition the hardware kit was short five size 10 washers we substituted H 10 washers, but they didn’t work well because the holes for the hydraulic brackets were too large, causing the washers to fall into the openings. Very easy to assemble and looks exactly as expected. Bonus is that it fits the adjustable base from wayfair perfectly so we didn’t need to adjust any of the supports. We needed a replacement specifically to accommodate a new adjustable base, since our old bed wasn’t compatible. We absolutely loved our previous bed and hoped to find something that wouldn’t completely compromise on style, as so many adjustable base-friendly designs tend to look cookie cutter and uninspired. We took a leap of faith ordering this bed, not fully sure it would work, but it turned out to be a good match with our existing side tables and dresser.
