Catskill Craftsmen is located in Stamford, New York, a small rural village nestled in the northern sections of the Catskill Mountains, at the headwaters of both the Schoharie and Delaware rivers.
Catskill Craftsmen began operations in 1948, and has developed over the years, becoming the nation's leading manufacturer of RTA (ready to assemble) hardwood kitchen islands, carts, and work-centers. The company is privately held, and takes great pride in its products and services.
Sixty dedicated employees work hard to insure that our products are delivered rapidly and meet your satisfaction. Catskill's manufactured items are made from naturally self-sustaining, non-endangered North American hardwoods, primarily birch and hard rock maple. Lumber is purchased from area sawmills, then dried, manufactured, and packaged on site. All sawdust, shavings and waste materials generated during the manufacturing process is converted into wood pellet fuel, and used to heat homes. Catskill is proud to say, "our operations generate no wood waste".
Catskill is also a leading manufacturer of exclusive, private label kitchen workcenters for the trade. Their products are described as "high quality at fair prices".

Well Built and easy to assemble

Nice heavy cabinet that looks great. Be careful when you turn it over during assembly. One of the caster split the wood. I had to glue and clamp it. Perhaps installing the bottom shelves earlier would reinforce the wood because it hides the area that I glued.

Smooth process... good quality

[...]Assembly took about three hours. Instructions were straightforward and easy to understand. I had to drill holes for the drawer glides; but that was fairly self-explanatory. Laminated birch is surprisingly attractive but will require a periodic application of oil; especially in drier climates, like Denver. Particleboard veneer sides could use a little improvement. Perhaps threaded inserts instead of wood screws directly into "soft" synthetic wood. Great for storage. Top provides much more workspace than traditional countertop. Very mobile even when weighed down with pots and pans, mixer, assorted kitchen utensils, etc. American-made product far superior to similar Chinese made products. Well worth the cost difference. [$]. I will shop Catskill Craftsman again.

This took extensive assembly. I was a little bit overwhelmed to find out that it was just a pile of boards and a bag of hardware. But the instructions were step by step and complete, and my 12 year old and I were able to assemble it correctly, with only a couple of wrong turns.

Just got it together last week, so just started using it. Seems to be well constructed, good quality. Like the movability as well, as it can be used in any part of the kitchen. Would recommend this products.
