Wonderful design - I love the shelves, and the shade gives lots of nice quality light. Assembly is very straightforward - the instructions explain things well, and there’s really no way to mess it up. However, the way some of the pieces fit together is just a bit off. I ordered two of these lamps, and on one the lampshade doesn’t sit straight no matter which way I turn it around and try to make it sit straight (see the close-up photo). On the other lamp, the lampshade sits perfectly (see the full-length photo) but some of the long pieces that connect between the shelves jut out a teensy bit further than they should (probably can’t tell in the photo, you have to look close to notice). Very pleased with this pharmacy-style floor lamp, purchased in the black. The finish is very nice, looks so much nicer than most of the high-end lamps I was considering. The base is heavy so the lamp is secure and doesn’t tip easily. I used a 40 watt tube-style bulb which also looks nice. I also like the adjustable height, as I was having difficulty finding a lamp which would go as low as I needed. It was easy to assemble once I wrestled it out of the styrofoam packing, and I am by no means complaining about the packaging because that is why the lamp arrived in perfect condition. Bright light with a compact design. The base is a nice warm gold tone. For me it’s limiting because the only way to turn it on is via the button on the wire at the base but where I have to plug it in the button is under other furniture.
