One year ago I bought a cheaper pergola from another company; it had the nylon roof you pull back with a cord, no side screens available. The roof was flimsy and noisy whenever there was a breeze, and if you forgot to close it tight before a rain, the weight of the water was going to tear it . It actually wasn’t 10x10 as advertised, maybe 9x9, and the sun came under the east & west sides, no you were seldom shielded from the sun. So I tried Wayfair after noticing my neighbor’s, got the same one only I ordered the pulldown screens for 2 sides. It also has a louvered metal roof ( huge improvement), we love it! We have been wanting to get a pergola for so long, and have been hesitant to pull the trigger. I’m so glad we finally did! We are so pleased with this one! It was a bit of a process to put together, but not terrible. It took two people about 5 hours to finish, and the last few steps we needed three people. Overall it was relatively easy, just a lot of steps. The top shade is a bit transparent so you can still see out of it, which we like, and the drapes are thick so if you want to close them to block out that sun you can. Our Pergola arrived in 3 long boxes. One of the boxes had a large taped up hole on the wide side. After doing the inventory we realized all the hardware was missing from the box with the hole I contacted Wayfair to try and get the hardware. They were fantastic! Great communication. They bent over backwards to ensure we received what we were missing. We ended up receiving an everything we needed. It was tricky at times to put it up. Once we figured thins out it went smoothly. Nice, sturdy pergola for the price. Easy assembly and it looks great once it's up. Two boxes came, both damaged on one end and parts had actually made it out of one box, in the end some minor scrapes and dents from shipping and the 4 solar lights were missing. I’m very pleased with this purchase as was my final big purchase and project in my garden renovation. The build was fairly straightforward and took about 7 hours to complete with 2 teens and myself. The only issue we encountered was that several pre drilled holes for the top lattices were a bit off center. However we were able to correct. This outdoor pergola was just what we needed to elevate our backyard. We went through several canopies in our backyard since we lacked shade but they always ended up tearing that we decided to get something more permanent for long term use. It took my husband and two older sons to put it together which helped speed up the assembly process. It would be very difficult to put together alone due to how heavy some of the pieces are.
