One year ago I bought a cheaper pergola from another company; it had the nylon roof you pull back with a cord, no side screens available. It’s perfect for what I needed. I initially set out to find an aluminum model, but this one ended up being an excellent choice. It gets quite windy in my area, so I really appreciate the additional weight and stability. Assembly went fairly smoothly, although I did have to get a little creative when fitting some of the connectors that join the beams together (time waster for sure, better QA is needed). A good soft mallet definitely comes in handy for getting everything seated properly without damaging the parts. I was also missing one component when the package arrived, but the replacement was shipped within a couple of days. Fortunately, it wasn’t a part that prevented me from completing the assembly and there were no damaged parts. Overall, I’m very happy with the purchase and feel it was a great fit for my needs.. It was quite easy to assemble (we only needed two people for the posts and main beams) and I was able to do the rest by myself. ​However, there are a couple of things worth pointing out. As shown in the photos, some of the holes on the beams were not pre-drilled, which made installation a bit more difficult. Additionally, the hook used to move the louvers arrived with rust spots and a poor finish, which is disappointing for a brand-new item. Love this canopy so much. I was able to put it together fairly easily but it does require some extra focus when assembling the sliding top shade. As far as daily use, the side shades and retracting top one are amazing. We’ve had some pretty severe storms and as long as the top shade is not open, it’s held up well. I would highly recommend.. Bought this to provide a sun windbreak for my potted fruit trees wanted something non-permanent. Looks great. During the day, you can close the louvers to enjoy sun shade; In the evening you can also use the strips light while you relax in your favorite chair! If the weather changes and it starts to rain simply close the louver shut and continue to enjoy your outdoor living area with friends and family.

We bought the 20x12 to go over our back patio. The house has an eave so we measured and confirmed the stated height of the pergola would fit under the eave. The pergola ended up being several inches higher than the specs. I think 103 inches high when it was complete. Because of this, my husband had to buy a new blade to cut the rear poles several inches He also has to drill new holes. This worked out well but took several hours to address. The instructions aren’t great but we were able to follow them with minimal errors. Putting all the poles together was tedious but to be expected for this size project. Actually raising the pieces and attaching them to make the frame was not very difficult and we were easily able to accomplish it with three people. We had a downpour a day after putting it up, and only one spot has a drop, so I would say it’s pretty water tight. My husband doesn’t love that the roof isn’t opaque, so we may end up painting it. We’ll see. Other than the height issue, I’m pretty pleased with the quality for the price.
