For the most part this pergola is everything I could have hoped for. Absolutely in love with the look and feel of our patio after installing this. Putting it together is a lot of work so come prepared! The sound on the roof as it rains is so relaxing. We have had extremely high winds with no issues but it has not gone through hail or snow yet so I can’t speak on that currently. This is a great solution for my boring hot back patio. It created instant shade and great style to the area. We rarely used this space before installing this gazebo. We have been wanting to get a pergola for so long, and have been hesitant to pull the trigger. I’m so glad we finally did! We are so pleased with this one! It was a bit of a process to put together, but not terrible. It took two people about 5 hours to finish, and the last few steps we needed three people. Overall it was relatively easy, just a lot of steps. The top shade is a bit transparent so you can still see out of it, which we like, and the drapes are thick so if you want to close them to block out that sun you can. I really like this pergola. Our other pergola(metal with fabric top) collected water and collapsed. My husband told me he did not want another one that could collect water or blow over. It it more porous and it doesnt hold water. The pergola itself has a nice gray color and looks nice. Again it is heavysturdy. Im pretty sure itll take an actual tornado or a hurricane to move it! Turned out nice. Had this professionally installed and mounted the post in concrete blocks to give more stability. The metal pieces itself is lightweight aluminum but when connected together it’s sturdy. Only gripe are the shade connector poles. Their means of connecting could be improved because they slide off & disconnect from one another every now & then but so far holds up well with rain when shade is pulled back. I purchased a 10 foot and an 8‘ x 10 pergola. We put them side-by-side and we have created a beautiful area which will be a setting area and a hot tub area. The directions were a little complicated, but we got everything done without a problem. We built the big one on Saturday and the one on Sunday. The second was a breeze after building the first one. ​Great pergola and easy assembly, but with a couple of issues ​We really like this pergola, and the whole family is thoroughly enjoying the shade it provides on our deck. It was quite easy to assemble (we only needed two people for the posts and main beams) and I was able to do the rest by myself. ​However, there are a couple of things worth pointing out. As shown in the photos, some of the holes on the beams were not pre-drilled, which made installation a bit more difficult. Additionally, the hook used to move the louvers arrived with rust spots and a poor finish, which is disappointing for a brand-new item.
