One year ago I bought a cheaper pergola from another company; it had the nylon roof you pull back with a cord, no side screens available. The roof was flimsy and noisy whenever there was a breeze, and if you forgot to close it tight before a rain, the weight of the water was going to tear it . It actually wasn’t 10x10 as advertised, maybe 9x9, and the sun came under the east & west sides, no you were seldom shielded from the sun. So I tried Wayfair after noticing my neighbor’s, got the same one only I ordered the pulldown screens for 2 sides. It also has a louvered metal roof ( huge improvement), we love it! Our Pergola arrived in 3 long boxes. One of the boxes had a large taped up hole on the wide side. After doing the inventory we realized all the hardware was missing from the box with the hole I contacted Wayfair to try and get the hardware. They were fantastic! Great communication. They bent over backwards to ensure we received what we were missing. We ended up receiving an everything we needed. It was tricky at times to put it up. Once we figured thins out it went smoothly. I’m very pleased with this purchase as was my final big purchase and project in my garden renovation. The build was fairly straightforward and took about 7 hours to complete with 2 teens and myself. The only issue we encountered was that several pre drilled holes for the top lattices were a bit off center. However we were able to correct. Im somewhere between 4 and 5 on this. The packaging is horrible so many parts were damaged. Wayfair gets a 5 out of 5 for getting replacements ordered for me quickly. The replacements were packed just as poorly so some got damaged as well but they sent extras so it was not a problem. Sent from the manufacturer so none of that is Wayfairs fault. Instructions were just okay. Not always super clear. Some bolts really wanted to cross thread. Im happy with the look and function. Its not going to keep every drop of water out in a storm but itll do an adequate job. It could be a little sturdier but I dont think you can find better for the price. Im telling everyone about Wayfair customer service. I expected to have to contact the manufacturer myself and be lucky to get a response. For the most part this pergola is everything I could have hoped for. Absolutely in love with the look and feel of our patio after installing this. Putting it together is a lot of work so come prepared! The sound on the roof as it rains is so relaxing. We have had extremely high winds with no issues but it has not gone through hail or snow yet so I can’t speak on that currently. We’re having an issue with one of our control boxes, which we’re just outside of the 30 days so I’ll have to reach out to the manufacturer over that but overall, I highly recommend!. Hogan. Missouri.
