Turned out nice. Had this professionally installed and mounted the post in concrete blocks to give more stability. The metal pieces itself is lightweight aluminum but when connected together it’s sturdy. Only gripe are the shade connector poles. Their means of connecting could be improved because they slide off & disconnect from one another every now & then but so far holds up well with rain when shade is pulled back. This pergola is much more solid and sturdy than most you’ll see at the big box stores. Instructions are straightforward and everything is labeled. I’m happy with it overall. Not to say there aren’t issues. Some of the welds are poor quality. I also had to deal with a couple of dents that made it hard to join pieces. All the bolts are 10mm, even for the base, which seems to be undersized. The shipping box looked like it was dropped from a moving vehicle…it was really bashed up but fortunately everything was in pretty good shape. Great looking pergola with easy to follow instructions. Took two adults about 7 hours to build with breaks in between. We also used the recommended expansion bolts to secure it to our cement patio. The wood is very soft so it does dent and scratch easily while we were building it but it doesnt look bad at all.
