Turned out nice. Had this professionally installed and mounted the post in concrete blocks to give more stability. The metal pieces itself is lightweight aluminum but when connected together it’s sturdy. Only gripe are the shade connector poles. Their means of connecting could be improved because they slide off & disconnect from one another every now & then but so far holds up well with rain when shade is pulled back. This pergola has been on my deck for 2 summers now. It has held up pretty well. The biggest issue was that the mesh top once attached cannot be removed easily so the heavy snow we had during the winter stretched the mesh so now leaves and debris gets caught on the top. I wish it was designed to roll up/down the mess top to make it easier but the directions did note all pertinent info. I just didn’t think about snow.
