We have full sun in our backyard until it sets. Since we put up the Gazebo it's been a game changer. There are a lot of parts but when done looks great. 3 guys all in their 70's put it together. The hardest part was getting it into the backyard. We had to open the box and carry the pieces back as the box was to heavy. It looks so nice on top of it.. Rose. Fri Apr 24 2026

It was quite a journey from ordering to assembly. The Gazebo shipped in 2 boxes but, unfortunately, the first delivery had only Box #2. I contacted a Supervisor and was pleased with a substantial credit to my credit card for the inconvenience. I was told Sunjoy would only resend the entire order and that I could keep the original Box #2, no charge. As I was awaiting the replacement shipment on delivery day and had called to check on status of delivery, I was told by another Supervisor that the "Replacement Order" had arrived at the warehouse earlier in the week but the box and contents were damaged. So . . . Wayfair sent the damaged Gazebo back but failed to let the delivery company know. The Supervisor, again, pleased me with an additional substantial credit to my credit card for the inconvenience. The 3rd shipment arrived and a contractor (and 2 man crew) I had hired began assembly. Here are key points on the assembly process: 1.) The assembly took a full 2.5 days to complete by a licensed contractor and crew. 2.) The Manual is absolutely needed for success! It would be helpful if the dimensions (length) were added to the parts descriptions. 3.) Buyers should be aware that IF the Gazebo is being placed on a surface that is NOT completely level, it may be necessary to trim the wooden posts, per laser level results, to assure complete balance and a safe structure. 4.) VERY important to secure legs to ground as the large roof area will be affected by strong winds. 5.) Roofing Sheet Metal Panels - Good news, bad news: The panels are lighter weight and and prone to denting and possible scratching on the finish so HANDLE W/ CARE! All the panels are shipped with a plastic film on both sides of each panel. This protects the glossy finish from scratching (Good) but it is a VERY time and labor intensive process (Bad). Definitely worth it in the end but build in extra time in the assembly process. 6.) The wooden posts, supports and joists are a soft wood finish and may "bruise", so handle w/ care. Overall, we are pleased with the Sunjoy 12x20 Gazebo! It provides a good sized space for a couch, 2 lounger chairs, 2 ottomans, cocktail table, end table and rattan storage box. It also has room for a 5'x3' table and 6 chairs. We added an overhead fan/light combo (additional support beams were installed by the electrician), 4 electrical outlets, and Bistro style dimmer style string lighting for additional light and ambiance. The support and compensation from the Wayfair team was impressive.. Doug. Windsor, CA. Fri May 22 2026

Love it. Had it for two seasons already. Well constructed. Was packaged very well where every piece was protected against dents, breaks and such. In general, Sunjoy is a good company according to our research and own experience. Had to hire someone to install, and it was pricey to do so, but better than doing it ourselves. Not an easy install at all. It took our professional a full day. A zillion pieces to put together.. Pamela. Fountain, CO. Sat Feb 07 2026

Update After a snow and ice storm in December 2025 the roof caved in. My husband put the frame together by himself in a few hours. This beautiful pergola is perfect for my courtyard. With very little shade, I could hardly stand to go outside. Now with this pergola, I can spend mornings drinking coffee or evenings winding down in the shade and privacy of my covered patio. The privacy curtains allow peaceful relaxation and the mesh curtains help in keeping insects out. This pergola was a total game changer for me. My yard has been transformed from a nearly unusable space to my private oasis. I am inspired to decorate the patio and spend much more time outside enjoying it. The installers did a fantastic job and ensured the posts are secured in the concrete patio.. Sandy. Spring, TX. Thu Jul 09 2026

It took a few months to get up the desire to tackle this project. The instructions were pretty straight forward, mainly pictures without words. I'd say assembly was on the easier side. Instructions said it would take 4 to 6 people to assemble, I did it completely by myself with no issues. I think it took me about 10 total hours over 2 days to completely assemble. There were several parts that were not marked with the same letters as in the instructions but easy enough to figure out. The "V" posts were actually "W" posts and a couple other issues like that. There was also one length of wood that was about 1" too long and I had to trim it off to assemble. a nice looking gazebo and I'd probably purchase it again.. William. Sun Sep 08 2024

Gazebo came nicely packaged. And I absolutely love the gazebo now that it is up. Garage is first come first server, so needed a carport to protect whoever loses for the day. I was looking into another model from Sunjoy sold through a large box store, but after looking at their other products decided on Autocove due to more head room at the entrance due to the angled front rafter. The other model went straight across. My driveway pad angles down in 2 directions, so I had to DIY footers to make It level. Used 12” concrete form tubes, QK5000, 4 little vertical rebar in each piling drilled into exiting pad, and concrete2concretre bond agent. Used Laser level from highest point to know how tall each needed to be. Added 1x6 black stained slats which are NOT part of the product. Also used different 6x6 base mounts that only needed 1 big 5/8 hole drilled into concrete instead of 4 each pillar. The hardest part of my overall project was drilling the holes into existing concrete. You will be over installing bolts by the time you are done, but straight forward. The other reviewer’s video showing assembly (slowed way down!) was very helpful. Great Carport for the price and not hard to do. I spent more time on the concrete footings my application needed then the carport build.. Craigmr. Thu Mar 16 2023

I bought this somewhat hesitantly due to Wayfair's return policy, the amount and weight of all pieces, and the careful packing into 3 boxes. That would be hell to return, especially at my own cost. Nonetheless, I didn't return it and it is now full constructed. First of all, I assembled this over the course of about 5 days, mostly by myself (which I understand is not advised by the instructions). I needed my neighbor's assistance and two kids to help me hoist the vented top portion of the structure onto the four posts. Second, the instructions are clear about 75% of the time. There was a lot of trial and error with a few items, which I will list here: 1. Step 6 calls for D1, but does not clearly show which side is up. Flat side should be down. 2. In step 11, the aforementioned hoisting of the vented portion, it really doesn't appear that those 4 pieces of D1 will hold such a heavy piece, but it does. 3. In step 18, it calls for sliding the roof pieces into grooves without securing them, which happens in step 19. I HIGHLY ADVISE TO INSTALL THE ROOF PIECES ON ONE SIDE ONLY AND SECURE EACH IMMEDIATELY. As a matter of safety, these pieces are extremely sharp and some slid out of their grooves, crashing to the ground. Anyone standing below the unsecured roof pieces could've been severely cut/injured if one slid off. This happened a few times (slid off, not injuries) and it was terrifying. Again, having others assist here to hold them in place while someone secured them is important. Wind could also cause these to fall. 4. Some of the same pieces are slightly different in length and this may cause a few issues with some pieces fitting (for example, I had trouble with the Q pieces that secure the roof pieces). 5. Step 22 was very unclear to me. There are 2 tracks for the bug screen and the curtain, but which one goes on which track is up to you. I used the outside track for the curtain. Also, when installing each, ensure the zipper portions meet in the middle of each side (not at the posts). Don't install H9 until you have all of the curtains properly installed, or you'll have to remove those pieces to make adjustments. 6. Finally, also in step 22, H7, H8 and H10 are to be installed and it is not clear how or to what. 3 sets of each go on each post and attach to the eyelets of the bug screen and curtain to keep those from blowing. Photos of this have been added here. All in all, we like this structure but the fabrication of the materials is far from exact and the instructions need to be improved.. Tim. Downey, CA.
