Overall, this is a very nice table. I could not give it five stars because of the difficulty in putting the 12 screws for the hinges in. Although the instructions do not indicate a drill is needed to start the holes and then a drill is also needed to screw in the screws. Because the wood is not prepared for the screws, doing it by hand is not possible. It is easy to put together other than that. Gorgeous table, large, sturdy, pretty easy to extend, but I'm disappointed with the quality of the top. FYI 'engineered wood' top means a wood-look laminate type finish over top of particle board. It's attractive but the lines in the picture are actually grooves which every single crumb gets stuck in, but even worse, if any water gets in there it soaks in and bubbles the surface. First, the positive comments: the table was a pleasant surprise in that it is more white than depicted in the photos. It is a sturdy table and the extension insert is easy ro put together, even though I am a senior citizen, with spine injuries. I did it myself. Many compliments were received. The negative part is that it arrived broken. The customer service was most helpful and we resolved the issue. A carpenter I hired was able to fix it and it looks ok, unless one looks closer, which of course does not happen. Overall, I would recommend it. Very sturdy and heavy table. Looks great.. Joanna.
