Absolutely beautiful and and easy to put together. My one complaint would be that though the top IS solid wood, I was disappointed to find it still had a laminate over it. Any scratch to the surface and it will bubble if it gets wet and that will eventually ruin the surface. First time purchasers from Wayfair here so didn't know what expect. After looking at the local furniture companies with their outrageous prices we decided to go this route. A recent remodel required a whole new dining set. We bought the chairs locally but needed a table exactly as this one. Great quality, weight, ease of assembly and received quickly. The finish, weight, stability and quality is better than anything I saw here locally. The finish is a high gloss white and locks securely when the leaf is not engaged. One note....the table in the 'closed' position is listed as 36x36, it is not; it's 36x50 then when opened is 36x72. Fine for my area since I had the space but others needing the 36x36 dimensions may be in for a surprise. My chairs arrive next week and can't wait to see how they match. Table looks great--its just the right size for my space, not too big and not too small. Seems sturdy, and heavy enough to not feel super cheap but still light enough I can slide it around by myself (5'4" 40 year old woman). And best of all, I can actually fit chairs comfortably, which I was worried about. I occasionally host 7 total people for family dinners, and my previous table was too small for that, especially as the girls get older. This table will be perfect. You can comfortably seat someone on either end of the table without them having to sit super far back from the table to avoid crushing their knees. And the design of the base is such that while I'll normally have 2 chairs on each long side, I can fit 3 chairs on a side without anyone getting stuck with a leg or support constricting them. I wouldn't necessarily say this table fits 8 for daily use, might be a bit tight squeeze for that, but for the occasional use I think it will fit 8 adults without anyone getting shafted. I spent forever looking for a table that could do that, that wasn't also far too big for my space, and this is just perfect. Quality is what you expect from Wayfair (or anywhere else these days)--its definitely veneer over MDF, most noticeable on the base, and for that the price seems a little high, but I feel like that's the case unless you're spending huge sums of money. So given that, overall quite pleased with the product--and assembly was a breeze! Overall, I’m about 90 happy with this table. It’s beautiful, solid, and feels high quality. I especially love the live-edge wood legs, which were surprisingly hard to find compared to all the metal-leg options. Unfortunately, my particular table came with some pretty significant imperfections. Parts of the live edge are so rough that they actually snag my clothes when I lean against it, and there are also a couple of noticeable divots. I understand that imperfections are part of natural live-edge wood, but these feel a little beyond normal character, especially at this price point.
