I was very pleasantly surprised by this chair -- I've been searching for a comfortable desk chair made of something less ugly than mesh, and while I would've loved real leather, this chair was much more budget-friendly and it's really quite nice. It's larger (in a good way!) and more comfy than I expected, it took less than 10 minutes to assemble, and it doesn't smell like plastic or chemicals. The wheels move smoothly on a hardwood floor and don't leave marks. The back is supportive but also well-cushioned. I do a lot of focused desk work (sometimes don't get up for 3-4 hours) and this chair makes it easier. I'll be keeping this until my business is successful enough to upgrade to a chair made of fancy Italian leather (this is not happening any time soon, which means the chair will be with me for a long time).. Got this for my husbands sunroom office. The fabric is soft and smooth, although it’s a faux leather it feels like a microsuede. The black is a matte mid black/dark grey versus a dark black. This chair is nice real leather and seems to be a good quality, not likely to start peeling quickly. The seat is nice and wide and constructed well. It isn't the most cushioned on the bottom, but good enough for this style of chair. The bolts that screwed in the sides of the cushions for the back were somewhat temperamental to get in the right angle since they were counter sunk in the hole, especially considering the hole in the leather was too small..
