We were plesantly surprised with all of the room this desk offers. I would say it is a medium weight wood, and went together fairly easily with 1 person. My only complaint is the clips to secure the back panels were white, (these are optional to put on) which is great if that part faces the wall but in our case they dont so we had to leave them off because it looked ridiculous (they should have been brown to blend with the desk). I did not purchase this to use as a desk. I needed a corner vanity and did not want to spend a lot of money. This was perfect for the budget and worked out great! The directions were very straightforward and easy to follow with the exception of the final step of placing the top shelving to the bottom base. The two sections in the corner as I show in the picture want to separate. This requires two people. I assembled this by myself and it took several hours. It is a great piece of furniture for a gaming desk or to use as a vanity. The light strip is a straight continuous wire and does not have an L shape to allow for the corner and sticks out. This is a well built, small to medium sized desk. It might be the chair I have but it is a little tight for my legs underneath the desk either way the drawers. Goes up & down easily & tilts if you need that. I left off the ledge for tilt because I dont think I'll use it but kept it just in case. That part screws on easily with a couple black knots.
