I purchased the Somerset 2-Light 12" Modern Flush Mount by Longshore Tides and, although I haven't installed it yet, I’m happy with my experience so far. It arrived well-protected in a sturdy box with ample internal padding and no visible damage, and the fixture components were secure and organized, which suggests care in shipping. The materials feel solid and well-finished; the metal parts have a consistent finish and the glass diffuser appears free of chips or defects. Screws and mounting hardware look durable and complete. The attractive modern profile and compact 12" size should work well in hallways, bedrooms, or small entryways, and the finish matches the product images, providing a clean, contemporary look. Given the solid packaging and perceived material quality, it seems like a good value for an affordable modern flush mount. I’ll check ease of wiring and mounting, how level and secure it sits on the ceiling, light diffusion and brightness with the chosen bulbs, and long-term finish durability after installation. This is a good light - it looks just as it appears online. It was slightly challenging to install, and my partner and I are experienced at installing light fixtures. You need to line up the holes in the unit to insert the screws from the ceiling bracket, and this is challenging because there's insulation on the ceiling-face side of the unit. The insulation makes it nearly impossible to see when you have the screws lined up, so you have to do it by feel. It's 100% do-able; it just takes patience. Lastly, I do not recommend buying open-box items on Wayfair, which is what I did with this unit to save money. The glass was cracked, and because this was open-box, Wayfair couldn't send me a replacement unit or piece (which can only be sent from the manufacturer). It seems Wayfair doesn't have an agreement with the manufacturer to ship replacements after it accepts open-box items. I was offered only a full or partial refund; I made it work for us.. Hillary. This light is perfect for my front porch. I have an older house built in 1920’s, and I wanted to keep some of the older charm. This has a cool vintage, yet modern look. Now I just need to repaint the area around the base since they previous light was literally painted to the ceiling. Only complaint is that the bulb socket seems to be slightly crooked.
