As it only suspends 6.3”, this clean-lined flush mount is a great choice for a room with a low ceiling. And we love the acrylic rattan drum shade that lends a coastal vibe while also slightly diffusing the light from the three standard bulbs (sold separately). The fixture is made from metal and hugs the ceiling and is not visible behind the shade. It is rated for use in dry locations only, so consider it for the entryway or powder room, or think about a row to illuminate a kitchen island or dimly lit hallway. I bought 2 of these lights. They arrived well packed and in good shape. The electrician seemed to have no trouble installing them. They look like the photos in the Wayfair app. My aging eyes need strong light. Each of these lights equipped with 100w equivalent LED bulbs creates a pool of light strong enough for me to read or do hand sewing without eye strain in about a 10x10 foot area. This light looks great once it’s up, but the installation was more problematic than it should have been. The instructions were unclear, and the illustrations did not match the actual setup well enough to be truly helpful. That turned what should have been a simple install into a frustrating process. Visually, the fixture is attractive. The hand-woven rattan shade and brass hardware give it a warm coastal, boho look, and it does cast a nice soft light with a pleasing pattern. It works well if your goal is atmosphere rather than super bright task lighting. That said, the poor installation experience takes away from the overall value. When you buy a ceiling fixture, the setup should not feel like guesswork. If you are not experienced with light fixture installation, this could be especially aggravating. Overall, I like the look of the fixture, but the bad instructions and incorrect illustrations made the process far harder than it needed to be. Attractive light fixture. There is a tiny rough spot along the edge of the glass. I cannot add a photo yet because the electrician never showed. EDIT: The light is installed. In order to see the color of the glass we went through a few different bulbs, white & clear, low wattage, all of which were visible through the glass so all you saw were white spots.
