This was an experience. First, I couldn’t clear the utility lines at my house but my friend’s deck was perfect. We started out confident, but it didn’t last. The wrenching apparatus was our downfall. In the end we decided to forgo the winch process and hung it only using the locking mechanisms. The sail is great. It feels strong yet pliable and it’s the perfect shade of summer red. Approximate how much area you want to shade. Triangle, square, or rectangle depends on the number of existing poles, roofs, trees, concrete walls, etc. Use cable wires to connect the shade sail to hardware if necessary. If you don’t use cable wires, keep a 0.5 - 2 ft space between D rings and poles to give space for the hardware kits that come with adjustable turnbuckles to tighten & create tension.

Crafted from stainless steel, these rods offer excellent wind and corrosion resistance, making them a perfect, durable choice for various garden sunshades.

Nice quality material but design not well thought out. Pole sections do not bolt together. They fit onto the top of each one below. There is definite concern that a wind load on the sail could pull the pole apart with potentially catastrophic results (if the sail is blown around with a heavy top section of pole attached). Can’t understand why the sections would not bolt together, especially since the bottom screw tipped section does not screw into the ground deep enough to effectively anchor the pole for a sail. If they bolted together, you could turn the 2nd bolted section to drive the 1st section deeper into the ground. Didn’t anyone think about that?? Seems obvious.. Elizabeth. Bay Head, NJ. I was leery about the winch situation but when I figured out how I wanted to mount it, it turned out working perfect.
