This shade sail is made of a thick but flexible material that should provide just the right amount of protection from the sun without being a total "sunblock" (or completely waterproof) and the reinforced attachment points on the sail seem sufficiently strong. I haven't yet installed it, but the included kit appears to be very comparable to the separate installation kit I ordered just in case the included kit was flimsier or more difficult to use. This particular brand of sail offered a lot of different size options, which is ideal if you are looking for a sail to fit a space with unequal distances between the triangle points. The sail I ordered measures 20' x 20' x 28.3'. it came with a installation hardware kit but I can't yet comment on whether the hardware kit works well. I also ordered another hardware kit in case I needed a different installation option than the one included. Unfortunately, Wayfair said it delivered both when I never received the additional hardware kit. After waiting 3 days to see if there was a problem with how the item was scanned, I have reported the missing delivery and hope that I will receive that other installation kit so that I can choose which kit will work better for installing the sai.. Waterproof! Durable, we have several in different colors and have lasted over 3 summers without fading or Tearing and we live only 5 miles off the beach with sometimes high wind and hurricane times! That’s saying a lot;) we extended ours from roof to our deck and it stands as our sheltered in area!! Can sit under it during rain and all! Don’t even need to shelter our deck now! These are amazing! Much better quality than I thought they would be. They are also quite large, so I only needed 2 to cover a large deck, and they were placed in an overlap position.
