Installed this rectangular shade sail over our back patio and its made a huge difference — covers our seating area and the kids play space, and cuts the afternoon sun noticeably. this is a replacement for an older shade. Found the eyelets to be superior in this Royal unit but have not had time to install but from inspection the stitching is the key. I can tell immediately we will be able to stretch firmer. While the fabric is thiner, it will provide a better solution and the mounting hardware is all there.. Rick. La Quinta Ca. Mon Nov 03 2025

Why didnt I buy this shade sail earlier I cannot believe how much it has cooled our pool and how much more comfortable we are when we are outside. My 26 yr-old son even commented about how surprised he was when he got in the water today to escape the 96 degree temperature. He was surprised that the water felt cool instead of like a sauna! This is one of my favorite Wayfair purchases ever! Our neighbors came over to see about getting one for their pool after seeing ours. We LOVE this! It’s 4 years old and looks just as good as the day we got it! No fading! Gorgeous. Kristi. Ellerbe, NC. Thu Aug 06 2026

This shade sail is perfect for lowering the temperature in the pool. The water was 94° and not conducive to swimming. The day the shade sail was installed, the water temperature dropped to a refreshing 84° with the same high temperature in the high 90s.The pool can now be enjoyed all day. With UV indexes high every day here in Georgia (could not get the address listed to change) a portion of the pool is shaded all day. With the noted change in water temperature, another shade sail was ordered to block the sun from patio doors facing SW. That will be added soon and a review forthcoming.. Barbara. Pine Bluff, AR. Returning this sail because the fabric is more like a tarp than a shade that looks decent to the neighbors. The hardware kit seemed very solid, though, so I was tempted to keep the product just for the hardware (replacing the sail or improvising);.. Heather. Kittery Point, ME. Sat Sep 12 2026

Approximate how much area you want to shade. Triangle, square, or rectangle depends on the number of existing poles, roofs, trees, concrete walls, etc. Use cable wires to connect the shade sail to hardware if necessary. If you don’t use cable wires, keep a 0.5 - 2 ft space between D rings and poles to give space for the hardware kits that come with adjustable turnbuckles to tighten & create tension.
