These are nice lights that we got to accent pictures in our hallway. There are lights on both sides. I will say that I thought that one side was stuck powered in, until I realized the pictures on the top indicated which button to use on the remote control. I have been looking for just the right pieces to enhance the area over my mantel and these fit the bill. Installation entails using two screws to apply a plate which the lights fit over. I love the idea that these sconces are not hardwired. Great lamps, easy to install. I chose the plug-in mount rather than junction box. The instructions could have been a bit clearer. More then what I expected. They work great. Was easy to put together and hang. Just enough lighting to relax in that's it.
