The parcel locker is a good size. I placed it behind the column in front of my house. The lock, however, is poorly placed. It is 34 of the way down near the bottom. We had to place the locker on 4 upturned cinder blocks to raise it high enough to make out the combination on the lock without practically standing on your head. The lock itself is very hard to read. It really is too small for the size of the unit and the numbers are very tiny and silver just like the dial so they are very hard to see. The combination was easy to change. I love this mailbox. My first inclination was to have Handy install but decided to tackle it myself. I went on Etsy and ordered the classically styled numbers which I hope hold up over time (Etsy seller Hildahomedecor solid brass numbers) My handyman came over today and used liquid glue to lock in the finial so that it can’t be twisted off and disappear (I hadn’t even thought to do that) Project is complete except for getting the old post out!. It's a great mailbox! Solid, tough and attractive! I added the Mail Boss Steel Post, it's a bit pricey but beautiful looking and heavy Guage steel that is powder coated! I put a 4 x 4 inside it for added length and strength! I used 2 bags of 50 lb cement, 2' into the ground, it is totally solid! This mailbox comes with the 4 bolts to mount the easy on slider base to the post but if placing on a wood post 4 x 4 just use some lag bolts, the base plate has numerous hole configurations! This mailbox slides right on the base plate, then put the 2 screws in the front and you're good to go! The 2 screws are totally inaccessible since they are inside the closed mailbox cover when locked. An fyi, I followed exactly the height instructions, but my mail person felt it was a bit low due to their new vehicles having higher window frames, so I added the height extension to make her happy! she loves it now!.
