Set up is more than easy and there aren’t a bunch of miniature pieces to clean. Personally I clean mine after each use instead of allowing the food to sit so it doesn’t create that harsh buildup around the edges. The best part about the slow cooker to me is the auto warming feature. Past appliances I’ve used, some would require that I manually change the temperature. I don’t feel pressured to have to check my meals every 5 minutes since the feature is in place. The party dipper is a hit too! I recently cooked a pot roast in it and was able to throw in lots of carrots and potatoes because of its roomy size. This model has a unique feature of a locking lid and it's great for traveling so that nothing spills while it's in the back of your car. The lid is really nice quality and has a rubber ring around it so you can get a nice seal while cooking. It's easy to program and start in the morning so you have dinner ready later that evening. Well....I have had Nesco 18 qt roaster for 20 yrs...I needed to replace it. I really like the semi-oval design of this new one..and the lid is domed higher than my old ene. I started reading recipes as soon as I ordered this. I also ordered the reccomended accessories that go with it so I could use as soon as possible. I watched videos and couldnt wait to get it so I could start experimenting. The first thing I made was a pumpkin cheesecake and it was so easy and I loved the taste. Next I cooked bacon, and at first I thought I had done it wrong ! But after I was finished I knew I did it right and it was delicious. I will admit it takes more time, but it is so worth the extra time. Everything I have made is so good that Im not sorry about the extra time !!
