Disappointing! These are not solid wood but MDF and extremely poor quality. The images are not accurate for the arched top. You have to slide a thin back board, which actually feels like a pressed cardboard, in the tracks of the arch frame (see images). Manufacturer needs to update the images for this product as they are very misleading. Thankfully I purchased insurance, and I also spoke with a Wayfair agent who has organized the pickup of these items and I will receive a full store credit for the products and the insurance. It’s exactly what we wanted. Just a heads up, it's medium height, not a tall bookcase. We have a low TV stand with a 65" TV on it, and putting this next to it makes them about the same height. The finish is pretty much what you’d expect for the price, super balanced. It definitely has some character. The lights are magnetic and USB-rechargeable, so you don't have to worry about running a cord from the unit to an outlet. The inside shelves are adjustable. I’d recommend going with Wayfair Pro for the assembly; it’s not impossible to do it yourself, but it’s a long process and you'll need two people at some point. We had no damaged parts, and it came with a bag of spare parts, which was really nice. No issues with the assembly - instruction booklet was detailed, all of the parts were separated into labeled bags so it was easy to put together. Took my teenage daughter and I about two hours, but it was her first time putting together furniture, and she was very meticulous (she loved legos as a kid so this was the perfect adult-ish project for her)! It’s helpful to have a regular screwdriver and an electric screwdriver, as a few of the screws were a bit long. These are good looking sturdy shelves for the price. They work for my purposes but aren't the finest of finishes. Some of the powerdercoating on the metal arches/supports was scratched/flaked off. I haven’t styled the bookcase yet, but am pleased with the look. Delivery had me nervous the end of the box was open and I just knew there would be broken or missing pieces. However, there was no damage to the piece. I put this together myself in about two hours. The directions were clear and easy to follow. The most difficult step is bending the arch piece and keeping it in place while installing the cover piece. I’m sure that part would have been easier with someone helping. It is a beautiful piece. The directions with the count process helped a lot. I rated a 4 / 5 because the arch was very difficult for me. I would suggest the assembly be done by two people. The furniture is beautiful, well made, tall, and very nice. However, I have some concerns it’s not very stable, so we will definitely anchor it to the wall using the included kit.
