We spray painted metal towers and covered shelves with white wood grain contact paper to lighten up this dark set. Quite easy to put together with two people with half stands propped on ottoman. Did put together top and bottom with holes facing wrong way and had to remove and flip one bottom tower so that joining screws found holes. Very wobbly and definitely anchored to wall on either side. One issue I had was that one of the metal shelving brackets had 4 random drill holes in the side of it, with no purpose. The bookcase was fairly easy to put together, though it probably would have gone faster if my dog Unni had not been trying to “help” during assembly. It ended up being a little smaller than I originally expected, but that was on me for not checking the dimensions closely enough before ordering. In the end, it worked out well as a compact bookshelf for the bedroom. One of my favorite features is the built in lighting. The brightness is adjustable, which makes it great for softer nighttime lighting. I personally don’t use the touch slider controls very often because it also comes with a remote, which is honestly really convenient since I can adjust the lights without getting out of bed. Overall, it’s a nice looking shelf with a modern feel and works well for smaller spaces. That said, it made me realize I’ll probably still need to find a larger bookshelf for my living room.. Trisha.
