I ordered 4 of the large book cases and 4 of the smaller ones same style to make my built in unit for my office. The shelves were very fast and easy to put together. I was able to modify the smaller shelves to stack them to complete the built in. This shelf set is what I expected for the price. The pine is a 2 grade, has been stained, but not top coated. The wood is sturdy enough, kiln dried, and reasonably well stained. I applied several coats of polyurethane to it and it looks excellent. As the wood ages even the color tones will even out. For the price this has been an excellent value and easy to work with. For the price I did not expect AAA wood. But, considering the cost of such items, this was solid by comparison and with a little work looks like a high grade item. I would absolutely recommend this. I used three coats of hand applied satin polyurethane and the finished effect was something you typically see only in upgraded or premium priced items. Came beautifully packaged! No dings. The color is slightly more orangey than I wanted but I’m okay with that. I love that there is no assembly, and the wood is fairly good quality for the price. Just two negatives - I wish I could remove the nubs (that join the units together) on the top unit, and the company sticker on the unit was a bear to get off - I don’t know why companies put them on the unit like that! A least make them easier to remove. Took me 25 minutes with goo be gone to scrape it off. I left the bottom one on that can’t be seen bc I don’t feel like scraping another one off!. Lisa. US. This solid wood bookcase is the perfect size for any space. At 32" high, it provides ample storage, but doesn't overpower. We use real wood and screws with plugs in our construction - not MDF, air nails, or Staples. Some minor assembly at home is required; instructions and hardware included. Overall dimensions of 36" W x 10" D x 32" H with three openings that allow for 33"W x 8.5"D x 9.25"H. We do not use highly processed wood, because of this, you can expect knots and minor imperfections that make each piece unique.

This is a very nice bookcase. We're actually using it as a pantry, and it's perfect. It's very sturdy and well made. Wasn't the easiest to put together but if you're at all handy then you'll probably be okay. Ours, unfortunately, has a manufacturing defect that prevents one of the shelf fronts from attaching properly. Very solid piece. The color is nice and the assembly was easy. I’m using the piece in my craft room closet and it’s just lovely. The only criticism I would put forth is that the shelving unit is actually two pieces that sit on top of each other. Once I unpack the rest of my items, the weight will balance everything.. Kelli.
