I purchased this to store DVDs that did not fit inside my existing TV cabinet. This shelving unit does an excellent job, fitting exactly four shelves worth of DVDs and each shelf holds approximately 17 standard single-disc DVD cases. The shelves are only as deep as a standard DVD case, so the unit is not big and obtrusive. It’s limited depth, narrow width (only a bit more than a foot), and short height let me fit it in a tucked away space. I was hoping it would sort of fade into the background while still looking nice. I didn’t want it overpowering the corner or obstructing my other furniture. It succeeded in meeting those expectations. The assembly isn’t too bad but, for its size, the cabinet is a bit more complicated to construct than one would expect, which is why I am not giving it a full five-star rating. The cardboard backing must be nailed on with 14 different nails (although you can get by with about 8-10 if you strategically place them). It would have been nice if the backing were able to slide into grooves to lock into place like the backing of another (different brand) small bookcase I have purchased from Wayfair. The nails have the potential to damage the MDF construction if the cardboard backing isn’t lined up with the top and bottom of the shelves by even a minuscule amount. The remainder of the case is relatively easy to assemble and the instructions are relatively straightforward. One person can assemble on their own, although a second might be helpful. The cabinet is a very dark brown, though still in the espresso family. Wouldn’t have minded it being a shade or two lighter. Upon first assembling, it seems wobbly, but even just the light weight of the DVDs on the shelves made it extremely stable. On the whole, I would recommend this cabinet for DVD or small paperback book storage. It’s a space and cost efficient solution. . Mark. Arlington, VA. 2020-07-31 19:21:22

Cut the clutter and whip your space into space with this streamlined bookcase. It's made from engineered wood and strikes a traditional, clean-lined rectangular silhouette with a smooth finish. Inside, five spacious shelves provide the right platform for displaying framed photos, collected curios, or rows of your favorite reads. We love that its understated design and array of neutral finishes make it easy to incorporate into spaces of all styles. Plus, the horizontal design is great for small spaces.

I bought 3 of these units for a champagne "built-in" look on my beer budget. The shelves are about what I would expect at this price point; they aren't heavy duty but they are fine for holding my books and knick-knacks. The backing and top piece and sides are very thin; we have young children and attached furniture straps to these units, but the tops weren't quite thick enough for the screws needed. You can't tell from the picture, but assembly is medium hard; we had to guess at how some of the pieces fit together, and the backing is 5 separate pieces for each shelf, rather than one large piece. I do really like the thick trim and smooth white finish which makes the bookcase look higher-end, and was the primary selling point for me.. Nicola. Newberry, FL. 2018-06-15 12:14:03
