I had the door professionally installed. I purchased 5 lag bolts , header board , a sander , weatherizing stain to color it grey, spray poly. I was initially disappointed when assembling because some of the boards were cut short and I can see tiny gaps in the wood but it is a heavy door that was a bit of a project. The handle is great and on the other side of the handle there is an intention so you can push the door from the other side. We did not install the lock latch but it is a very solid piece. These turned out beautifully but I severely underestimated the amount of time it would take to get them to this point. I struggled to get these to stain as dark as I wanted. I tried just staining them at first and then had to go back and sand them down to get them to stain darker. This was a great find on Wayfair! We had several of these doors in Europe and I struggled to find them in the United States. We used Houdini hardware to hang them. I did add a small piece of poplar wood, which we will paint black to match the doors, in order for the hardware to fit onto the frame of the door, it was a small and easy modification. The doors are heavy and very well-made and the reeded glass offers the perfect amount of privacy while letting in light. Perfect for small spaces where a door swing would be a nuisance. The doors do come with barn door hardware which we chose not to use in lieu of the invisible sliding hardware, also purchased from Wayfair.. Amanda. Ireland. Tue Jan 06 2026
