I orderd my dryer from the LG web site. I was anxious because I wasnt sure how smooth it would go. As it turned out- evrything went well, even when I needed to change the delivery and installation date. Also, I researched and learned that I got a better price ordering directly from LG. I had a complicated install with it being a stacked unit and installed in a smaller, yet adaquate laundry closet. The installers were excellent and gained my full confidence. Bought the washer with the pedestal washer and dryer to replace our older set that was too bulky. This set is sleeker and has the same heavy duty power as the first set we purchased. We purchased the dryer and washer together and both have been great so far. I am only planning on speaking to the dryer though. First the positives, - The dryer uses heat pump tech, meaning no ventilation needed, which was a huge bonus for us. - It is noticeably gentler on clothes. - Dries clothes and comforters completely in a single cycle, without needing to rotate them. - It is very quiet, very different from what I've had in the past. - Lint trap is very easy to clean - With the app, it has a decent amount of features and customizations. - Looks very modern. Now the negatives, - Scatches easily. It already got a small scratch that happened during the install process. For the price, I'd expect better durability. - It take on average twice as long to dry clothes due to this being a ventless dryer. Just like the matching washer, I bought it for an upstairs laundry closet area where a normal size stacked washer and dryer just would not fit in my home. We are running the water lines next week and I honestly cant wait to get everything installed upstairs, but for now I’ve been trying it out in the basement and have been really impressed with it so far. One thing I had to learn at first is that heat pump dryers work differently than a traditional dryer. I was expecting clothes to come out feeling really hot, so at first I thought something was wrong, but once I read about how they work it made a lot more sense. It’s more energy efficient and much gentler on your clothes, which I really appreciate. The 40 minute quick cycle has been great for smaller loads, and I also love that you can set it to keep tumbling to help prevent wrinkles if you don’t unload it right away. The drum light is also a great feature and makes it much easier to see everything inside. Another thing I really like is the lint filter design. It has a nice double filter setup with very fine mesh that does a great job catching lint. I also love that this is ventless, because that opens up so many more options for where you can put it. It’s wonderful for spaces where you normally couldn’t install a dryer, and I also like that you can optionally hook it up to drain automatically instead of having to empty the water container. Another nice bonus is that it’s WiFi connected. I wouldn’t say that’s something I absolutely need, but it is really nice to have. I wanted a ventless solution since I had to move this to a room with no area for venting so I understand the limitations which are not ideal but for what it is, it works great. So what are those caveats? Ventless drying can't get rid of all the moisture because it's being recycled so the more moisture there is the hard it is to fully eliminate that moisture. For most things, clothing even a full load, it usually has no problems. But if you are drying a full blanket then you'll find that it takes maybe 2 full runs to get it completely dry. But lets be honest how often are we cleaning blankets? not that often so for most cases it's perfect. I kind of which I could have it auto drain into my washer drain pipe so i don't have to empty out the water tray so regularly but otherwise it's not a huge inconvenience.
