In cloudy weather or winter, charging time may be longer and working time may be shorter, which is normal for solar lamps and should not be considered as quality problem. 3. If the ground is too hard, do not twist or hammer it with force. Try to soften the ground with water and then insert into the ground. 4. Be sure to turn on the switch and install it in a locatioon where the sun can shine directly on the solar panel.

My initial thought, upon opening the box, was, this was the wrong item! Have to admit, looking at all the description photos, I only focused on overall height, which is fine. But the actual lights appear so much larger in the description photos. Turns out they are rather small: 2 in. Square, by 5-1/2 in. high...they literally fit in the palm of my hand! But I got them charged up, anyway. A nice feature, is, there is a choice of 2 brightnesses. I prefer the brighter one. They are also wet resistant, and have been in the rain, and still work. A nice feature,also,are the metal poles. We have rocky, hard soil, and it was easier to pound them in, and not worry about breaking plastic. Despite being smaller than I thought, they do blend in well in my garden...not overtaking the plants with their size. I do recommend them, and have even ordered a second set for my back yard.. Joyce. They are so easy to install! I placed these solar lights along my front walkway and they are the perfect addition. I have them set on the dim light setting and the light gets brighter with motion.
