Once upon I time I could sharpen my knifes to razor sharpness by hand. Decades later my hands are no longer steady enough to do that. I spent 10 minutes reading the instructions and then ten minutes getting two 8" knives sharper than I could do it by hand. After using it a few more times I'll be able to get a knife sharp in under a minute. Seriously, I think I'll be able to sharpen a knife as fast as a professional chef does with one of their sharpening rods. Hold rod downward firmly and hold the knife at a 15-20 degree angle away from rod to use. Not break resistant, do not drop on the ground or hit on hard surface. Not for serrated edges.
