We bought this in August of '21 and love it. It's a sleek design and the fan works great. If I would change anything, I would have four lights instead of two to distribute the light better. Amazing range hood! Not easy to install, we actually still were sweating trying to get it secured in with four people involved. The instructions say at least two people, but I would get more people helping! It understandably took us a long time, but it is very sturdy. We have just short of 8 ft ceilings, and wanted it about 30” over the stovetop, so we also had to cut the two covers for the top portion. Get a metal cutting wheel and grinder, it was definitely not a job for someone who doesn’t have experience doing that, but you could cut it a different way if needed. Not necessary to alter like that though for taller ceilings, or lower placements. Installation aside, this range hood works beautifully and is strong even on its lowest setting. The lights are not blinding, and it’s nice having just buttons for control on both sides. Absolutely would recommend, for anyone who has the right help to install! They had a similar model for same price but that one had 2 lights and the buttons below the glass. This has 4 lights which provides just the right amount of bright light and has the buttons above the glass to keep clean. Fan action works fine, not quit but not loud in my opinion. We have it for two years now. We got this one because it is the only one that can be installed with a built-in short kit, that supports low ceiling. We have a 7’8” ceiling and we wanted it to be installed in such a way that it will be both in the correct distance from the cooktop and now to low profile. It works great.. Oren. Redmond, WA. This hood is really large, which in retrospect was evident from the measurements (we followed the advice of "6 inches wider than the cooktop", which is 30"), but at least it's fairly sleek looking. We are obviously pre-installation but the control panel (which is accessible on both long sides of the hood) looks pretty straightforward. We bought this in August of '21 and love it. It's a sleek design and the fan works great. If I would change anything, I would have four lights instead of two to distribute the light better. This is an awesome Z-Line hood unit especially at the Wayfair purchase price. The first one I received had a metal rubbing of a fan blade, reached out to Z-line, sent a video explaining the situation. I was advised a new replacement was already on its way, in a blink of an eye. NO fuss at all. Not having an actual island in my kitchen, I installed it above my Bertazonni stove, away from the wall. The placement made the corner look bigger, very airy, and receive many compliments. I have seen many island hoods but this one actually has the controls on both sides of the unit, making it unique. The 4 lights pivot, allowing light to be were most needed. The motor is very powerful, and does the job it's intended to do. I ordered the matching crown molding for a finished professional look. It arrived undamaged and as described. We've been using it for about a year and it's been great! It's quieter than I expected at 1200 CFM, and certainly at least as quiet as the more expensive hoods at the appliance store (although it's probably slightly louder than lower-flow hoods, so adjust your expectations based on that!)..
