I am very happy with this hood. The quality of build seems solid, installation instructions were very clear, and it I think it looks great. It takes some planning and work to get it installed. You have to make sure your ceiling joists and ductwork is going the right direction or be prepared to do some modifications. I have a soffit and had to take down a bunch of drywall to modify the framing, run the 14/3 romex for the light/fan and modify the ducting. Then I replaced the drywall, taped, texture, paint and installed the hood. Fortunately it all came together nicely. I was able to held the hood in place while my wife drive the screws into the framing. I think it will be worth it in the end because the hood won’t be blocking the view in front of our cooktop.. It was perfect for my island range. The only detail that should be noted is the the covers are welded solid and can not be separated to slip on at the end. This makes the assembly a little more complicated for balance and holding for the final mounting and you have to use both parts so that they can be installed which makes it hang about 2 inches lower.. Amazing range hood! Not easy to install, we actually still were sweating trying to get it secured in with four people involved. The instructions say at least two people, but I would get more people helping! It understandably took us a long time, but it is very sturdy. We have just short of 8 ft ceilings, and wanted it about 30” over the stovetop, so we also had to cut the two covers for the top portion. Get a metal cutting wheel and grinder, it was definitely not a job for someone who doesn’t have experience doing that, but you could cut it a different way if needed. Not necessary to alter like that though for taller ceilings, or lower placements. Installation aside, this range hood works beautifully and is strong even on its lowest setting. The lights are not blinding, and it’s nice having just buttons for control on both sides. Absolutely would recommend, for anyone who has the right help to install! (That probably goes for any island range hood). Sally. Tulsa, OK. Tue Jan 28 2025

Well I have it out of the box the reason for this purchase was I have tall ceilings and I needed a exhaust fan that I didn’t have to figure out how to get additional pieces or have to build down from the ceiling to close the gap. This fan assembly fit that bill it’s also a rental property and so I didn’t want a glass unit even though I have one like that and like it a lot this unit is more “renter friendly” and safe no ones going to break it.. This is an awesome Z-Line hood unit especially at the Wayfair purchase price. The first one I received had a metal rubbing of a fan blade, reached out to Z-line, sent a video explaining the situation. I was advised a new replacement was already on its way, in a blink of an eye. NO fuss at all. Not having an actual island in my kitchen, I installed it above my Bertazonni stove, away from the wall. The placement made the corner look bigger, very airy, and receive many compliments. I have seen many island hoods but this one actually has the controls on both sides of the unit, making it unique. The 4 lights pivot, allowing light to be were most needed. The motor is very powerful, and does the job it's intended to do. I ordered the matching crown molding for a finished professional look. Highly recommend this unit to everyone!. Kelly. Greensboro, NC. Thu Feb 03 2022

The hood looks nice and works great and I love that the controls are located on both sides of the hood. When the hood first arrived I pulled everything out to check for dents and didn’t see any but once we went to install it a long time after there was a dent that can really only be noticed at the right angle. After waiting months to have my kitchen back I didn’t want tot have to take it down and wait for a new one so I’m living with a dented hood. Packaging wasn’t the best and there was other small scratches that are hardly noticeable. Otherwise I’d give this 5 stars.. Kaitlin. Eureka, CA. Mon Jul 20 2020

Love this hood. It looks very professional and clean. My favorite part is the solid panel instead of a grate/mesh panel. The lights are nice and bright. Very sturdy/substantial not flimsy at all. I ordered the 36" for a 30" cooktop which worked perfectly. The smaller size would have looked too small. Before/After photos. We're out of the 90's. Unit is quiet (for a fan) and easy to see into living room compared to old unit. Even though there's the glass top, it looks/stays pretty clean (which was my concern). Light is really bright but not as warm as I would like but that's just me. My husband likes it bright since he's the cook. Now just new countertops/stovetop.. Carry. Salem, SC. Wed Feb 19 2020

It is BEAUTIFUL! I am remodeling my home. I had a set of headbangers above my stove and I just wanted them gone. I found this one bc I had to have a free-hanging vent and it is PERFECT. I am not sure what all they had to do to install it, but they did great. It's not real quiet, but I don't use that part much. I mainly wanted to lighting and in case I needed a vent, I got one, it was cheaper here. It is simply goregous at night.. Connie. TX. Mon Feb 19 2024

The hood showed up in flawless condition. Thick foam comparments and stainless covers well protected. Install is time consuming, instructions are clear. If you have 8 ft or less ceiling you will most likely only use the upper bracket. Noise level is acceptable. Looks great.. Guillermo. Mount Prospect, IL. Sat Apr 25 2020
