Wow! This 72” mantel was even better than expected. The stain was even, and the finish was more on the matte side which was exactly what I wanted for our remodeled family room! I noticed some people commenting on the pearl insert on the side. I didn’t think it was noticeable. It’s small and towards the back on the right side. This beam is constructed out of ¾” thick Aspen wood and is 6 1/2" tall. You choose the length and depth. Each piece of wood is unique and will have more or less character/knots than the other. It is designed to look like a solid beam without weight. The distressed beams are painted either black or white and have the edges sanded over and a brown stain/wax applied for a distressed look. The distressed beams will not be a solid color. Easy to install utilizing a French cleat mounting bracket which is included. Screws are not included. You will need to purchase 3" screws for the application you will be attaching the bracket. Corbels will increase the total height of the beam to 13". The corbels have been pre-drilled and include screws. You will need to attach the corbels to the beam upon receipt. Wood is considered a combustible material. Heat clearances must be adhered to. If installing over a fireplace, check your local building codes and the manufacturer's instructions for your specific fireplace insert or stove.

For use indoors or out, this live edged ASTM E136 non-combustible mantel shelf was replicated from a Pine wood beam found nestled in the woods near some old barns. Although its origin is unknown, its character is very much alive with its history. Saw marks, bark remnants, insect life, weathering and natural beauty are all meticulously captured and preserved by a patented molding material and then lovingly hand painted and finished. Made in the USA, this shelf has an 8 inch depth allowing for ample room on top for personal affects. The distressed look is achieved by hand with attention to detail. As a result, no two beams are the same and your beam will be one-of-a-kind. Dimensions may vary slightly from selected, due to the nature of the wood and the time effect on it. We use pine boards for our Contemporary mantels. The final product might appear a bit lighter or darker because of the lighting and nature of the wood.

MDF is a composite wood and is very commonly used for furniture, cabinetry, shelving, and decorative moldings. Mantel ships in 3-pieces; 2-legs and 1-header. The legs attach easily to the header with nuts and bolts. Mitered hanger board assembly is included for easy installation as well as a 3-piece mitered scribe molding set to hide any gaps after installation. This mantel has a 1-1/2 in. projection off of the wall leaving a nice pocket behind the mantel to accommodate your tile, stone, marble, etc. Look for the pearl inlay that graces the right-hand side of the shelf as proof that you have received an authentic Pearl Mantel. Paint grade only. Comes painted white and is ready to install.
