The grid is powder-coated metal allowing for birds to slip through easily and protect them from predators. The feeder can hold 1.25 lbs. of birdseed. The tube itself is made from durable ABS plastic and features 4 different feeding stations. Many of your favorite songbirds can slip in but larger birds like doves, bluejays, and grackles will have to find another place to feed.

This is the perfect cage for the Painted Bunting birds to keep the big birds from getting inside their caged feeder. Rectangle cages will never work because the big birds learn to duck down and get inside. Because this caged feeder has square openings which the little birds can get in but the big birds cannot. If pesky ants or other crawling insects are a problem, our ant moat is a must. Simply fill the moat with water, hang above the feeder with included hooks, and the ants will not be able to reach the feeder base with its sweet nectar.

This feeder complements any natural or modern outdoor setting. The 3.5" diameter opening provides plenty of space to refill the birdseed and allows the birds to access and fly away from the seeds. There is also a small drainage hole at the bottom to keep the birdseed dry and fresh. Remember to bring this feeder indoors during harsh weather conditions to better ensure longevity.
