The only comment I have is that nowhere on the Packaging does it state whether the internal packing material (a heavy duty curly straw like material ) is compostable, recyclable or just garbage. Well... I like it and keeping it, love the amount of water it holds, but... disappointed that I was told it was separate base and top and instead it's one piece, which makes it harder to dump and clean, and also heavier to move. And I guess I should have realized the nice leaf pattern on the inside doesn't show when filled with water, ah well. Also, looking at color samples they show "fluted", but base is more like a woodgrain. It’s a two piece concrete birdbath it’s pretty big compared to standard ones. I made the perimeter bigger on the bottom . I will put some nice plants underneath. They suggest that birdbath tops not be left outside in the winter. Once the top fills with water/snow and freezes, the top may crack. All birdbath bases, bench legs, and statuary should be raised off the ground in winter so they will not freeze to the ground surface. Ideally, a birdbath should be stored indoors in the winter away from the elements. However, if a birdbath bowl must be left outside, remove all pumps, rubber stoppers, drain pipes, finials, and small components, and cover the top with burlap or any absorbent material (old blanket/towel) and then wrapped with dark plastic, making sure that water does not accumulate in the basin and freeze. Birdbath pumps, finials, and other small components should be stored indoors. Check the birdbath periodically to ensure that the cover is secure and water is not accumulating in any birdbath component. Cast stone products provide timeless beauty to your garden or landscape.
