I decided on and purchased this mantle for many reasons. 1) It being a Pearl Mantle let me know it would be made with quality. 2) It’s real wood and not some sort of plastic or pressed board. 3) it’s decorative and accentuates my decor perfectly and 4) the cost wasn’t cheap, but wasn’t unreasonably high! It arrived nicely packed, but I took one star away as it did not come with the 2 inch wood screws needed to do its install! It also did not come with instructions for installation. This meant searching online for instructions and having to go get the screws needed for the install. Really great quality. But it’s HEAVY. The weight isn’t listed anywhere in the description, at least not when I purchased it. (I double checked to make sure.) I’m pretty handy, but there’s no way I can install this by myself. I’d also feel a little nervous about my 100 year old fireplace holding all of that weight.
