Having already seen this set in a furniture store before ordering, I was not surprised at how BEAUTIFUL this dining room set is. I am, however, amazed at how well built it is. The wood pieces are nicely finished and SOLID. Slate inlays are well installed and tight. Assembly was direct and simple. Everything lined up perfectly and all hardware was organized and easy to identify. The only thing I would warn you about is that the table top is HEAVY. Shipping weight of just the top (including the 22inch extension) is 206 pounds. Once we figured out how to handle it, assembly went easily. We just LOVE it. I love the openness of the chairs. They are comfortable, even though they aren't padded. We got this set because the family had nearly destroyed our old chairs by spilling food on the cloth seats. The simple design would suit most any decor. I liked being able to choose different colors for the chairs, etc., to suit my color scheme.
