I used a pillow between the floor and seat of the chair to give me the height I needed to screw the seat into the rest of the frame. Otherwise, you would need an extra set of hands. These chairs are absolutely gorgeous. Easy to assemble and very comfortable. I do need to submit a minor claim (one of the arms was missing parts, a crinkle in fabric on one chair, and another arm has paint). The chairs are very comfortable.
